Development Director

On the eve our 70th anniversary, we are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Development Director to work on developing a strategy to launch a fundraising campaign in 2018 with the aim of sustaining the US-UK Fulbright programme for the future.

You will work with the Executive Director to develop the 70th anniversary programme of events with an eye on both the “friendraisng” and fundraising opportunities. With a focus on our alumni, you will develop a cultivation strategy that leads to a giving culture which might include class gifts, major gifts, corporate giving and legacies. You will liaise with our colleagues in the US on their fundraising initiatives.  A member of the senior management team, you will oversee alumni relations and engagement, including the roll out of our new Fulbrighter app.

The successful applicant will have a track record of success and relevant experience in fundraising and alumni relations as well as excellent relationship management skills and have a keen interest and experience in international education or cultural exchange. 

The US-UK Fulbright Commission is a not-for-profit organisation funded by both governments to promote educational exchange between the US and the UK. The Commission offers prestigious Awards for postgraduate study and academic research in the US, as well as an Advisory Service for the British public about education in the US. For those individuals who receive a Fulbright award, they join the elite group of global Fulbright programme alumni around the world – over 320,000 people in over 150 countries have received Fulbright awards since the programme was founded seventy years ago.

Location: Central London

Salary: circa £40,000 per annum
