Carla Harwood, 22, was born, raised and educated in Accrington, Lancashire, until she crossed county lines in 2009 to study History at the University of Leeds. She earned a First Class honours degree and went on to pursue her goal of building a career in the information services, being hired almost immediately to work for her alma mater. In autumn she will go on to study for a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, where she intends to focus on Health librarianship and knowledge management. In her spare time, Carla volunteers as the Leeds Search Team Leader for Missing People, a charity which raises awareness of missing individuals and provides support for their families. She has been a member of the European Coaster Club for five years and intends to take advantage of her relocation to visit American amusement parks.
