The Fulbright SOAS Summer Institute is a three-week academic and cultural programme for US students, focusing on international development and politics.

SOAS University of London is the only higher education institution in Europe specialising in the study of Asia, Africa and the Middle East, located at the heart of one of the most vibrant cities in the world.

The SOAS campus is next to Senate House, the headquarters of the University of London, within the collegiate university's Bloomsbury estate.

This Summer Institute, with an average student to faculty ratio of 12:1, includes:

  • Critical appraisal of accepted theories and schools of thought
  • Unique non-Western outlooks on world issues
  • Joining a larger cohort as part of the SOAS Summer School

Students are also given the option to choose from a selection of other additional educational activities.

Students can receive approximately three to four credits to transfer to their home institution, subject to prior arrangement between the student and their institution.

The SOAS Student Union Sabbatical Officer for Activities & Events will ensure that participants are aware of opportunities to socialise with SOAS students and have access to student societies and sports clubs.
