Thank you to all of the participants, speakers and staff that helped to make the introductorySutton Trust US Summer School students sitting for a group photo.  event for the Sutton Trust US Summer School programme a success. This programme is for bright non-privileged UK students interested in pursuing undergraduate study in America. The scheme, delivered in partnership with the Fulbright Commission and with support from Pure Potential, will reach 64 students in its pilot year.

From 5-7 July 2012, the programme participants joined Sutton Trust, Fulbright and Pure Potential staff in London. (We would like to thank Mill Hill School for hosting us on their lovely North London campus!)

The participants were able to meet and mingle as well as partake in fun ice-breakers and US cultural activities. The programme sessions also included:

In particular, we would like to thank the following speakers and organisations for sharing their expertise:

And of course a huge thank you to our student and parent speakers for sharing their personal experiences with US study!

We would also like to express our gratitude to the ACT for donating test preparation material and for Uni in the USA for the book donation.

The second phase of the programme will be our trip to Yale later this month. Staff and students are certainly looking forward to it!
