I enjoy how even when I leave the lab and walk out the building at the end of the day my learning doesn't stop....

Most – although not all – postgraduate programmes will require you to sit an admission exam. Standardised exams provide a common denominator for US universities to assess your academic potential amongst both US and international applicants. Read on for more information on the New GRE General Test for most master's and PhD programmes, GRE Subject Test required for some fields, GMAT for MBA study, the LSAT for the JD in law, the MCAT and the DAT. Some international students may also be required to take an English Language Proficiency Exam.
Unsure which test to take? Before you register, consult the website of each university to which you will apply. In addition, pay close attention to the university’s application deadline, and plan your exam schedule accordingly.
If you need extra help studying for admission exams, preparing your applications, or are interested in an exam preparation course, please see our Resources page for information on test tutors and educational consultants as well as our page on preparing for admissions exams. EducationUSA also provides a downloadable handout on postgraduate admissions exams.
