Fulbright Acts

After the success of last year’s inaugural Month of Action, Fulbrighters continued to work towards the goals of the Fulbright Programme this March by participating in almost 40 events and engaging with their host communities across the UK.

Fulbrighters get involved in their local areas all year round, but the Month of Action provides grantees and alumni with a dedicated opportunity to share information about the Fulbright Programme, international education opportunities and demonstrate what being a Fulbrighter is all about.

During the Month of Action 2019, activities took place from Southampton to Inverness, including talks on university campuses, outreach in schools and volunteering with local organisations - reaching close to 350 people.

Events included:

3 March - Katie Hockenbury participated in a beach clean in Wales with the Bangor University Beach Clean Project.

11 March – Monica Mendiratta and Nabi Sahak worked with a local charitable organisation to feed those sleeping rough near Camden Town Station.

Dr. Catherine Charlwood speaking to secondary school students in Merseyside about higher education and international opportunities.
