Open Doors data on international student numbers released
The Institute of International Education's annual Open Doors data was released earlier this week, showing international student figures at universities across the United States.
The data show that in the 2019-20 academic year, there were more than 10,750 UK students in the US and in 2019, international students from the UK contributed $444,000,000 to the US economy.
The United Kingdom remains the #1 sender in Europe of students to the US, and 14th in the world.
The UK is also the most popular destination for American students studying abroad, according to the 2018-19 data (the most recent year for which data was available).
