Programme Partners

The Fulbright Commission seeks a variety of partnerships with organisations passionate about international education.

Since 1948, the US-UK Fulbright Awards programme has granted over 25,000 life-changing opportunities to American and British citizens to study, research and teach in each other’s country.

We have developed over 70 co-sponsored Fulbright Awards with higher education, professional and charitable bodies in the US and the UK.

If you or your organisation are interested in working with Fulbright to support students, academics or other professionals, please contact our Awards team via programmes@fulbright.org.uk.

The Fulbright Specialist Programme provides funding for short-term collaborative projects at UK universities or organisations with a leading US academic or professional. The programme is initiated by the host institution in the UK who develop projects in line with their own goals and values and apply for a Specialist to work with them to achieve those goals. Past Specialist projects have included seminars, master classes, workshops, consultancies on faculty and professional development, staff and volunteer training, and more.

The programme is cost-shared between the US Department of State and the UK host institution. The UK host institution must cover the in-country costs of lodging, meals, and transport for the Specialist.

To host a Fulbright Specialist:

Submit the Host Institution Application: The application includes a project overview (objectives, activities, summary of how the project will promote continued collaboration); timeline, and budget.

Get Matched with a Specialist: Host institutions can nominate a specific Specialist for their project; or they can submit a list of desired criteria/qualifications/skills for the Specialist and choose from a shortlist sent by the US-UK Fulbright Commission.
